The many gloves of Theresa May

2.4.18

Gloves are an essential accessory for us girls in the UK. The unpredictable weather and often chilly temps can make cold hands a miserable affair.

Theresa May knows the importance of a good pair of gloves. From studded to suede, leather to lace, the PM has a great glove collection - here are some of our favourites!

No collection would be complete without a pair of leopard gloves. We haven't seen May wear these for a while, but she rocked them with other leopard accessories back in 2014. Bring them back Prime Minister!

Red is a hue that frequently appears in Theresa May's wardrobe, and gloves are no exception. May wore this suede pair in 2015 as part of a state visit.

May also has a short red leather pair- here seen on a visit to Sandhurst in 2017.

And we particularly love these striking long black gloves with red geometric bow detailing that May wore in 2014 for the Singapore state visit to the UK. They bring an edge to her grey tweed Paule Ka skirt suit.

Let's not forget about this black pair with zip detailing! Again May teamed them with her Paule Ka suit.

We've seen these long black gloves with lace detailing frequently over the past several months. Here the PM wore them on her way to Manchester to mark the centenary of the Representation of the People Act.

A similar pair is available from Cornelia James- they might even be a match!

May understands protocol to a T, and when meeting the Queen or other members of the Royal Family, she will often wear a pair of gloves. We've seen her don a short brown leather pair to meet Her Majesty, as well as to welcome the King of Spain to the UK in 2017.

And what about our favourite pair? We love this black studded pair that May has had for a little while- their last big outing was to China earlier this year!
